Is tollywood losing one more actress to Bollywood?

Yes seems to be the answer as, Trisha one of the top actress in south Indian cinema has signed a

film opposite the handsome hunk ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar.

This film tentatively titled Khatta Meeta will be directed by Priyadarshan, who had introduced Trisha seven years back with Lesa Lesa in Tamil. Telugu Movie News

The shooting will start from November 2009 and Akshay Kumar is producing the film under his Hari Om banner in association with Baba films.

Trisha had a long innings in Tamil and has been featured opposite all top heroes except seniors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan.

In Telugu, she is one of the most saleable actors who have done films with all young guns including megastar Chiranjeevi.

About her Hindi entry, Trisha says: “A lot of offers were coming my way, but I was waiting for the right film and I could not say ‘No’ to Priyan who is my mentor of sorts. I respect him as a film maker and he is also a good family friend. I don’t intend to move to Bollywood, but is definitely game to give it a try”.

However, a source close to the actress says that she has signed a three-film deal with Akshay Kumar’s Hari Om production company. It is also said that Trisha was the personal choice of the actor who saw a DVD of her Telugu and Tamil films and he confirmed her as his heroine.

Lokesh Bali from Mumbai will be personally taking care of Trisha’s grooming and publicity in Mumbai media. The buzz is that she has a very good role with equal footage with the hero and the actress will be completing her four assignments in South before taking the big leap to Bollywood.

Nayantara and Prabhudeva marry secretly?

Kollywood is awash with rumours that Nayantara Prabhu deva and have married secretly.

The rumour began when television channels down south began reporting that the two stars have married secretly in Hyderabad. However, a confirmation is yet to come from either Prabhu Deva or Nayan.

The two have been linked ever since they bonded together while working in Vijay’s ‘Villu’. It is believed that Prabhu himself took responsibility of teaching Nayan complicated dance steps and she reciprocated with equal enthusiasm while learning them.

Later, when Nayan got Prabhu’s name tattooed on her wrist, the affair was all but confirmed. The rumours of a brewing romance between the two got further legitimacy when Prabhu went out of his way to choreograph two songs for the Malayalam film ‘Bodyguard’ just for his dear Nayan. He did not even charge any money for it.

All this, coupled with grapevine that Prabhu Deva’s marriage with Ramlath is on the rocks, has almost made the romance between Prabhu and Nayan too real to disbelieve.

Still, the rumour of a secret marriage between the two has come as a shock to many. And neither of the two stars has yet confirmed or denied the news.

Trisha to make a dream Bollywood debut

Tamil actress Trisha is set to enter Bollywood with a film starring none other than Akshay Kumar as her male lead.

What if Namitha couldn’t succeed when she made her Bollywood debut in a forgettable Hindi film ‘Love Ke Chakkar Mein’ in 2005? Asin has proved that an actress from south can not just succeed in the Hindi film industry but also make a place in the top league.

Now, following the trend, Trisha, who’s so far worked in only Tamil and Telugu films, is slated to make her Bollywood debut in a movie to be directed by Priyadarshan .

The film, tentatively titled ‘Khatta Meetha’, will be produced by Akshay’s home production Hari Om Productions.

Reportedly, Akshay was keen to have a female star from South for this film opposite him. And when he saw Trisha’s performances in a couple of films, he had his mind made. He wanted only Trisha for ‘Khatta Meetha’.

Meanwhile, Trisha is thankful to Priyadarshan, who, she says introduced her to films, for her big Bollywood break.The film will be a comedy and will roll later this year.

Nayantara and Suriya head to Iceland

The two stars from South are off to Iceland to shoot a song for their film ‘Adhavan’.
After shooting songs at exotic locations in Kodaikanal and Darjeeling, the cast and crew of the Tamil film are headed to Iceland to can another song titled ‘Eno Eno Panithuli’.

The film’s leading stars are Surya and Nayantara .
Written by Thamarai, the song will be choreographed by Dinesh and shot over a period of ten days. It will reportedly be the first Tamil song to be shot in Iceland which has been the location for popular James Bond movies like ‘Die Another Day’ and ‘A View To A Kill’.
The music in the film is given by Harris Jayraj while lyrics are by Valee, Kabilan, Thamarai, Pa Vijay and Muthukumar.
‘Adhavan’ is directed by K.S. Ravikumar and produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies.

The film's supporting cast includes yesteryear heart-throb Saroja Devi, Vadivelu, Murali, 'Fefsi' Vijayan, Ramesh Khanna, Sayaji Shinde and Rahul Dev .

At last July 10th as been fixed as the release date of the bilingual film Malanna. It is called Kandaswamy in Tamil. The film was expected to release almost a year ago, but some reason or the other withheld it. If it was budget issues at some stage there were technical issues at some other. Malanna boasts of a storyline which involves the protagonist trying to release crores of Indian black money stacked away in Swiss banks.

Deepika Padukone: 'It's not an item song in Telugu'

After her item song with SRK in Billu, Deepika Padukone is preparing for another item song in a South film. Titled Love 4ever, the Telugu film is directed by Jayant.

The song will appear with the opening credits.

Deepika explains why she agreed to do the song, "I heard the song and really liked the concept. The film doesn't have big stars but two newcomers, and I agreed to be a part of the film for their sake.

Not so long ago, I was in the same position a newcomer getting ready to face my audience. And if I can add to this film in some way, then why not?"

The song is being choreographed by Ahmed Khan and will be shot at a Hyderabad studio. Deepika adds, "I have worked with Ahmed for Bachna Ae Haseeno's Khuda Jaane track, where he did a brilliant job. This will be the second time we are coming together." But she still hasn't figured out the look for the song."

She takes pain to stress that her appearance should not be treated like an 'item song', "It's a situational song and takes the story ahead. The film opens with it. So obviously, it leads to the plot starting where the song ends. I am a South Indian and I think this is a great opportunity for me to connect to my fanbase there," concludes the Bangalore girl.

I will never do a film for money: Katrina

Actress Katrina Kaif, who has made a mark in Bollywood with her stunning good looks, says that she will never do a film for money.

The 24-year-old actress, whose earnings support her family of seven sisters, said there are times when she feels that she needs the money being offered to do a particular film. “I am in a panic situation. But, If I succumb to such pressures, I know the audience will not respect me,” said Katrina.

Katrina, who made her debut in Bollywood with box-office disaster Boom has not looked back since finding success with Akshay Kumar starrer Namaste London. Looking back at her career Katrina says that she considers her journey so far in the industry as a learning experience.

Kat shows John claws

We got to know that John Abraham and Katrina Kaif were involved in some tu-tu-main-main while shooting the climax of their forthcoming film.

A unit member said, “It was a very difficult scene to co-ordinate. What irritated Katrina further were John’s remarks on the set.

They got into a major argument. That put her off! Katrina just stormed off the set.” Thankfully, the shoot had to be called off that day.

Kabir Khan had to cancel the shoot because of bad weather, but that really helped,” said our source. Kat had cooled off the next day and the shoot resumed again.


Katrina’s boyfriend Salman Khan would be more than happy to hear this. Sometime back rumors were rife that Salman keeps a tab on Katrina’s life and phone bills. He was quite upset with the reports about Katrina bonding with her New York co-star John Abraham.

If rumors are to be believed, Salman actually threw Katrina’s stuff out of his home because he didn’t like the idea of Katrina being friendly with his foe, John.

Karan Puts Hrithik in Big B’s Shoes

Director-producer Karan Johar plans to remake 90’s blockbuster Agneepath. For the lead role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, Karan has approached Hrithik Roshan. In the original film the role was played by Amitabh Bachchan. Karan is also making Hindi remake of Hollywood hit film Stepmom, for which he had to pay high amount to buy its rights. But for the remake of Agneepath he doesn’t need to buy the rights as it was made by his home production. The original film was produced by his late father Yash Johar and directed by Mukul Anand starring Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty and Danny Denzongpa.

One source revealed, “Karan has been planning to remake Agneepath but he was waiting for the right time. Now, he is confident that his company, Dharma Productions, can make multiple films at the same time. The film will be directed by Karan Malhotra, who Karan thinks is one of his most promising assistants. While some changes will be made in the script to give it a contemporary feel, Karan does not want to change any dialogue as he is very confident of the dialogue in the original Agneepath.”

“Surprisingly, Karan has not approached Abhishek Bachchan to play Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, which was played by the actor’s father in the original. While Hrithik is still deciding if he wants to star in the remake, Karan is sure that Hrithik is the perfect choice. However, the Dharma Productions team is yet to decide on the actors who will play Krishnan Iyer MA, played by Mithun Chakraborty, and Kancha Cheena, played by Danny Denzongpa, in the original,” the source added later.

However Hrithik’s business manager, Ashok Vashodia said, “Karan and Hrithik are extremely close. They keep discussing various projects. However, I am unaware of any offer as far as Agneepath is concerned.”

Shah Rukh Refuses To Work With Gowarikar

Actor Shah Rukh Khan refused to do Ashutosh Gowarikar’s next film which is a period drama. Ashutosh selected Rani Mukherji in female lead, while wanted to cast Shah Rukh opposite her, but the actor don’t want to take any chances with the director after their failed attempt Swades. Sawdes was not the big film in Shah Rukh’s career, sohe don’t want to feel the same experience again.

But the director is so keen to work with Shah Rukh that he is ready to give incentives to the actor to get agree for the project. One source revealed, “Ashutosh even told Shah Rukh that they could co-produce the film and he had no issues with Shah Rukh’s style of working on commission basis. But even this did not evoke a favorable response.”

Shah Rukh was unavailable for any comment, while Gowariker preferred not to comment.

But one good thing happened in all this that Rani has come out of the Yash Raj closet. Her latest three films which were with Yash Raj Banner i.e. Laaga Chunri Mein Daag, Ta Ra Rum Pum and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic all bombed at the box-office.
