Deepal Shaw is an Indian actress, preferably known as Baby Doll and is also a singer making her popular by appearing in the Hindi movies. Being born in Mumbai, from her childhood she has been trained and encouraged by her parents to sing, starting at the age when she was only six years old. In her educational files she was a student of the St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai and completed her B.A. in Psychology.
Her career was initiated as a model and took part in the 2004 Miss India Beauty Pageant and moved to the final round but was unfortunately expunged. This setback motivated her to redirect herself for an ultimate success in the Indian entertainment industry, in the career as a singer. Her first album named Baby Doll in 2004 became a sensational one and her strong debut was followed with Baby Doll Chapter 2, that featured many hit remixes of the yesteryears like the famous ‘Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar’ and ‘Rangeela Re’. He music in general is consisted of modernized remixes of famous old Hindi songs that do entail a very bass-heavy sound with some hip-hop elements. At present she is associated with the Sa-Re-Ga-Ma India Records. But it is to noted that the MTV India has been largely responsible in the promotion of her music projecting her as sexy and also the extremely popular music videos.

Shaw was born and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to parents originally from Uttar Pradesh. She studied in D.P.Y.A. High School, Dadar. Her mother was born in Lucknow, while her father was born in Ayodhya. She has a younger brother. As a child, her parents encouraged her to sing, first giving her lessons when she was only six years old. She attended St. Xavier’s College, where she pursued a BA in Psychology Shaw began her career as a model, taking part in the 2004 Miss India beauty pageant, advancing to the final round before being cut.[2] After this setback, she rededicated herself to striving for success in the Indian entertainment industry, beginning a career as a singer. However, the project was shelved shortly thereafter.[3] She made her acting debut in Mahesh Bhatt’s controversial Kalyug, opposite Emraan Hashmi and fellow-newcomer Kunal Khemu. Portraying a porn star, Shaw’s first role was generally appreciated by critics. In December 2005, she finished filming on her second venture, Karma, Confessions and Holi, directed by Manish Gupta. The international, English-language film also stars Sushmita Sen, Randeep Hooda, and Naomi Campbell, and is set for release in October 2006. She is currently working on Tumse, co-starring Irrfan Khan.
