Hindu group gifts' saree to Nayantara

A Hindu group has sent a saffron-coloured saree to actor Nayantara after she was refused permission to worship at a temple in Kerala as she was wearing a churidar. Activists of the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) in Kumbakonam said the saree was sent to remind the actor of the South tradition. Nayantara had visited the Killikkaavil temple in Kerala while shooting near As the temple rules allowed only women wearing sarees to enter the precincts, the authorities did not permit her to worship.
Her manager Ajith Kumar, however, denied that the controversy was about the dress she was wearing. The argument came up after few youths in the temple began teasing Nayantara, Ajith Kumar said. Nobody in the temple objected to her dress, he claimed. "Neither me nor Nayantara have received any such parcel containing a saree,'' Ajith Kumar said
