Actress Priyamani was expected to bag the Kerala State Award for her performance in Thiraikatha. Priyamani’s performance in the film was widely acclaimed and she received rave reviews about it. However Priyanka bagged the award and Priyamani has no qualms about it. It is said that both the actresses were neck to neck but the award finally went to Priyanka because she dubbed in her own voice. This has encouraged Priyamani who has now decided to polish her Malayalam and make an attempt to do the dubbing work herself
