Nayanthara, who was once the Queen Bee of Kollywood, followed the policy of not endorsing any brands because she believed that, ‘familiarity breeds contempt!’ The actress also felt that her fame and glamour quotient might take a beating if she appeared in such ads. It is heard that the Boss... actress had earlier declined an offer to shoot an ad for a popular textile showroom ad despite a whopping offer worth ` 2 crore.
According to sources, she even turned down the offer to endorse a jewellery shop and even a multi-national soft drink product. When her peers like Asin, Trisha, Shriya, Sneha, Suriya, Vikram, and Vijay were raking in the moolah with commercials, Nayan showed no interest in them.
Now with her film career coming to a standstill after her beau Prabhu Deva instructed her not to sign any more movies, the sexy actress has no choice but to consider banding few products.
Knowing her potential and brand value well, it seems like Nayan has relaxed her old policy and has decided to take plunge into the ad world. But unlike Trisha or Asin, all she could get was only a local ad, but Nayan did not want to let go of the offer. The actress will be seen branding a ‘special line of designer sarees’ for a big textile stores who are known for roping in biggies from K’town as well as Bollywood. She has signed on the dotted line, of course, for an undisclosed but huge amount!
