Vidya Balan to act in Silk Smitha's Biopic ?
Remember Silk Smitha – The lady set screens on fire with her songs like ‘Entha sepaina Eduru choosedi naa gathi’ from Drohi and also ‘Baavalu Saiyaa’ from ‘Baava Bavamaridi’. A film based on her life is being made in Hindi, which will star respected actress Vidya Balan.
Silk Smitha was well known for her vamp roles and she acted in more than 200 films in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada put together. She also acted in many Adult rated films too. However, her life was filled with controversies. She was all but 36 years of age, when she was found dead in her apartment in Chennai.
Vidya Balan will act in a role based on this volatile character. While many suggest that Vidya Balan is too homely to play Silk Smitha’s role, few others argue that her performance as a saree clad seductress in ‘Ishqiya’. However, Vidya Balan has laid down specific conditions to this film maker that she will not be interested in doing hip gyrating movements nor is she too comfortable with doing semi-nude scenes.
All said and done Vidya Balan has done some bold scenes inspite of her image as a girl next door. It will be interesting to see how the girl will pull off this role.
